The game CS: GO has greatly changed and improved since its release. Well, every respectable developer is constantly trying to improve their game to keep it popular. Indeed, thanks to modern technology, there are more and more worthy competitors. Thanks to the constant progress, improvement, and addition of new features, the game remains mega-popular worldwide to this day, although its launch was quite a long time ago.
Why it is Important to be updated?
As we mentioned above, the main reason for updates is to make the game competitive in the iGaming market and to comply with all modern standards with all the consequences. That is why it is vital that the game has its flavor and stands out from the rest. There is such a highlight; for example, you can get various CS: GO cases.
They make it possible to make the game aesthetically beautiful and give players a chance to make good money. And in general, the game will look more realistic as graphics and animations, characters, and their arrival improves. All these factors are essential for a game that will be a worthy rival to new games.
Speculations About the Next Major Update
Before we get into the details of previous updates, let’s take a quick look at the vision for future updates.
It is unlikely that a new update will appear by the end of the IEM Rio Major. We bet that we will be able to enjoy the new products by the end of the season, or rather at Christmas.
After the Birthday update, we expect something significant. Since recent updates have improved the game in general and removed bugs, it would be logical to get new skins in this case. Of course, users are already in anticipation of receiving a new case. After all, what could be better than opening a CS: GO case online as a gift for Christmas?
CS: GO Updates
A CS: GO update is an innovation in the game, the purpose of which is to change something. It may concern the game’s mechanics, fixing bugs, changing sounds, and everything that would make the game’s functionality more convenient and better. Updates also may be about adding new features to the game, such as new cases, maps, skins, and more.
Sometimes it’s updating that really takes the game to the next level. Below you can read the latest CS: GO updates and what they bring to our favorite shooter.
August 1st Update (The Matchmaking Update)
The changes after the game update were felt by the entire CS: GO community. It was aimed at recalibrating the competitive skill groups. More precisely, the developers have significantly changed the algorithm for selecting opponents in all three modes. Most of the players noted that their rank was not displayed after the update.
It is because they had to update their ranks by completing matches for each mode. More specifically, not just to pass, but to win the matches; for everyone, it was their own certain number of matches. There were many cases when players from Silver or Gold Nova immediately became Global, even without specific skills.
August 16th Update (Happy Birthday CS:GO!)
We can’t believe that the game CS: GO has been around for 10 years. During this time, an incredible number of players have been added to the game, which continues to grow daily. To congratulate their players on the anniversary, the developers have introduced a new update in honor of the birthday of CS: GO. What gift can players expect?
Now legendary cards such as Tuscan, Anubis, and Breach are available to players in all game modes. Primetime and Blagai maps have been added to the Partners mode.
Of course, this is not the only surprise for users. Developers added a capsule with a huge number of stickers to the game – 65 items. Each of them is a kind of reminder of all those years that the game exists, memorable moments. Some stickers reference various comic situations, and some are dedicated to game cards or collections.
But the most important surprise is the 10-Year Birthday Coin, which few could get in a short time because this thing is exclusive. Firstly, only players with a prime account could receive a coin. To get it, you had to put any rank 1 time – that’s 5000 experience points. We congratulate everyone who managed to do this because you received a top gift.
August 23rd Update (The Sound of Music Kits)
The central theme of this update was the addition of two music boxes with six music sets to the game:
- Sullivan King, Lock Me Up;
- kliksphilip, Heading for the Source;
- Meechy Darko, Gothic Luxury;
- Humanity’s Last Breath, Void;
- Knock2, dashstar*;
- Juelz, Shooters.
In addition, several minor restrictions have been added to the game for players without Prime status. And also, the developers improved the maps, and their optimization improved the boundaries of the objects and generally corrected visual errors.
September 7th Update
It is not a huge update that many players may simply not notice. The developers have generally advanced the game’s functionality and fixed previous errors in the Anubis, Blagai, Cascade, and Ember maps.
In terms of the game, the interface, exploit, Steam Input support, and input configuration have been developed for a more comfortable experience.
As for the maps, visual bugs were mostly fixed, the game added new locations and shelters, the explosion radius was increased, and many graphic details were included.
Although this update is not mega-cool, it definitely made the game a little better.
How CS: GO Updates Affect skins, Cases & Items
The player is waiting for updates primarily to receive and open CS: GO cases. So firstly, updates affect their arrival in the game. Some new cases and skins can be expensive, so players who can’t afford the novelty are waiting for the next update.
After all, over time, some skins become a little cheaper, and some, on the contrary, are more expensive. In principle, this and all the impact of updates on items in CS: GO.
To Wrap Up
For 10 years, the game has improved significantly both externally and technically, and this is all thanks to systematic and thematic updates. The developers are doing their best to improve the game and allow players to open CS: GO cases online as much as possible. While waiting for the next update, we can enjoy the game and improve our skills.
