      • Conclusion

The debate of Laptop vs Desktop has been going on since a long time and both are equally popular making a choice can be difficult.

The world of both Desktop and Laptops can be intimidating, as searching the perfect option can be a work of heavy task.

Plus, if you are a realtor then the work can be doubled as there are so many options available in the market for both laptops and desktops.

Realtor work is not easy, there are many things one has to deal in a day so according to that you should choose between laptop or desktop.

The first laptop was released in the year 2008 and since then their popularity has been increasing.

On the other hand, desktops were made decades before and many changes have been made in both the devices.
Both laptops and desktops have their pros and cons, and both can come in different price range, either cheap or expensive.

But the question here arises which is better for a realtor?

Well, the answer lies between the usage, proximity, work load and many other important factors.

If you are constant travelling and the need to manage paper work and other things then you need a laptop, as you cannot travel with a desktop.

If the work doesn’t consistently require you to carry laptop everywhere and you have the space to set up a proper office then going for a desktop can be a good idea.

Desktops can be a whole powerhouse and can take an immense amount of work load.

Though it requires a lot of space to set up and is not portable but if you have a stable office then desktop can work great.

As the realtor job involves managing a lot of paper work, keeping tasks ready, line up, property papers and many more important things, both laptop and desktop should be powerful enough to manage all these things.

Laptop Vs Desktop: Which is better for Realtor?

As we already know desktops are not portable and mostly it is not that ideal for real estate agents.

Real estate agents are always on the go and desktops doesn’t provide the right portability and compatibility.

So, Laptops are a better option for realtors, not only they closely replicate the desktop experience but also gives the comfort of portability that to without any set up.

There are different kinds of laptops that are available in the market, plus 2 in 1 laptops are also gaining a lot of popularity.

These laptops are convertible and flexible as they become tablets anytime you want.

Such laptops can be impressive if you are planning to show a presentation or open house sign-in sheet.

2-in-1s are convertible laptops are compact and keyboard can fold away to make it use like a tablet.

Though if you are not much interested in touch screen display and tablet format then don’t bother with a 2-1.

Overall, don’t pay for what you don’t need and choose a device that will help you grow with your real estate work.

Let us now discuss about the key feature needs for a realtor:

RAM

As a real estate agent there are a lot of important things and multitasking that needs to be done in a computer.

From social media to photoshop to different software your device must be capable of handling such task with ease, and this can be possible if you have a good RAM (random access memory).

RAM (random access memory) will help your device to multi task without any lags.

So, a laptop with at least 4GB RAM is a must but it will be better if you go for 8GB or more.

If you want to do more intense activities like 4K video editing or other multi task then 32GB RAM is a better option.

SSD Hard Drive

Solid-state drive or an SSD is used in computers and can be called the new generation of storage device.

This has been replaced by the traditionally used mechanical hard disks.

Not only does SSD hard drives improves speed of the computer but also gives amazing results in fast throughputs and processing.

Portability

As already discussed, portability is an important factor for a real estate agent.

Either you want to go for a 2 in 1 laptop or a normal one, make sure that it is lightweight and not too heavy.

There are many specialised options available in the market for people who need a compact and portable device.

Battery Life

Other than portability, battery life is equally important.

Realtor work can be hectic and it can be possible that one can sometimes forget to charge their device, but if you opt for a laptop with good battery life then it can be a game changer.

There are many options available in the market that provide more than 10 hours of battery life after it is full charged.

So out advise is to go for a laptop that runs long and doesn’t require juice every now and then.

Conclusion

Technology is getting better every day, plus almost every now and then a new kind of upgraded device arrive in the market.

So, keeping up with new yet affordable technology is always a good idea. For a realtor choosing the right kind of laptop can really affect their work productivity.

Go through our buying guide before you go out to purchase a device and consider all the options.
